In 2003, we fled the fire that devoured our village, “Labdou”. We carried fear and a small bag, and began searching for a place we could call home. We found “Al-Fashir”.
We thought the story had ended… but it returned again after the war of April 15, and we lost our city “Al-Fashir”.

We began a new dream bearing the name of the home “Wad Al-Fashir” beyond the borders of the homeland…

The family runs the shop together, carrying the name “Wad Al-Fasher” as a symbol of unity, and of standing shoulder to shoulder in exile.
After the cruelty of displacement from their original village, this modest space became more than a livelihood. It became the only form of stability they know in a world constantly shifting beneath their feet.
Here, among the shelves of goods and the exchanged smiles with customers, they build a protective web of human connection that shields them from the cold of exile and reminds them that, no matter what, they still have the strength to create a home.

He carries the same exhaustion he has carried since 2003. Displaced for the first time as a young man, he returned to life, then the last war forced him into displacement once again.

Every hour, they wait. For news from back home. News of survivors… of a friend granted another chance at life… or of a loved one who has yet to be found.

Hope of returning home.
